Important questions to ask
Booking a luxury yacht charter for your family holiday is exciting – but don’t forget to ask your yacht company the important questions. Once you have decided the date and destination of your charter, it’s time to arrange all the little extras for the family vacation of a lifetime.
Here at Caribbean Charter we understand that every family is different, and will expect different itineraries and activities throughout the trip. To help you get the most your of your private yacht charter, we’ve come up with a list of questions you should ask your company beforehand.
What activities are available on a Yacht Charter?
The activities on each yacht charter will depend on the itinerary. But, on all luxury private yachts you can expect activities to include (not limited to) snorkeling and scuba diving, kayaking, swimming in beautiful sheltered bays, fishing and much more. Of course, when you come into port at different islands you can take up many more activities in and around the island. If you are taking a family vacation especially for scuba diving, the US Virgin Islands boasts some of the best scuba sites in the world, with shipwrecks and reefs galore.
What type of food and drinks are served?
On a luxury yacht charter, you can expect five star cuisine and service throughout your vacation. From authentic Caribbean foods to a taste of home, there is plenty of variety to keep all the family happy. Not only is every meal served to you, but every single drink – alcoholic or not – is poured for you, so you literally don’t have to life a finger on your vacation.
What’s our itinerary going to be like?
The best thing about yacht charter vacations is it gives you the freedom to decide your own itinerary – it’s your holiday, your way. You would usually expect to sail for 2-3 hours a day, but where you sail to is completely up to you. Itineraries also aren’t set in stone. For example, if you turn up to a beach and it is too crowded, you and the skipper can decide to move along to a lesser known beach – our captains know all the secrets of the Caribbean!
What Should You Bring?
The essentials of a yacht charter vacation are similar to any other beach vacation. If you’re planning a summer holiday then you won’t need many warm clothes! Most of your day will be spent in your swimsuit. However, the sea breeze can get cool at night and there is always a chance of bad weather, so it is best to be prepared. You also need to bring all your personal ID and documents, along with any medication you take or may need throughout your journey.
Our crews are fully trained on special dietary requirements and can easily prepare food with this in mind. If there are any members of your family who are vegetarians, vegans or who have any allergies, please let us know well in advance so we can prepare the same delicious meals according to their dietary requirements.
